Fire Dues

The Murfreesboro Fire and Rescue Department has recently sent out the billing for fire dues on properties located outside the city limits. There have been a lot of questions concerning how many statements that some landowners have received. Each statement is for a different parcel of land owned by the same person.
If your parcels are connecting, one dues payment of $35.00 will cover all connecting parcels. If they are not, then dues may be paid for each non-connecting parcel.
All dues are voluntary, however, if dues are not paid for a parcel of land, the owner is subject to billing in the amount of up to $1000.00 per state law (Act 1345 of 2013). The amount of billing is based on the FEMA Fire Department Insurance Reimbursement Guidelines.
